The Hydraulic Switch Tamper (HST), a squeeze-type tamper, is ideal for switch tamping at moderate raises. Highly productive, the HST is known throughout the industry for its traversing workheads, performance speeds, simplicity in operation and maintenance, as well its high degree of dependability. In addition, the smaller footprint allows the HST to work in much tighter areas than other tampers.
The Production Tamper (Jackson 6700), a squeeze-type tamper, is ideal for switch/production tamping at moderate raises, with the ability to make raises up to four inches in any type ballast. Highly productive, the 6700 can handle rates of 22 ties per minute using single insertions and a one- to two-inch raise in clean, free-flowing ballast.
